“I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.”
(The Book of Genesis, 9,13)
In the Old Testament, in the parable of the Flood, the rainbow is a symbol of reconciliation of people with God. God spreads it over the sky, when the purifying cataclysm on Earth is over. We decided that in case of Poland the fact of regaining independence is a parallel return under the wings of Divine Providence.
Designed temple towers above bow – shaped square. This bow refers to a rainbow. On sides of the few–hectares eminence there are stairs, enabling access to the square, as well as all the objects located beneath.Vertical parts of the stairway are a part of stained glass, which, with their colours refer to the sunlight spectrum.
The great viridary in form of a garden is an element connecting all the associated buildings. Glass walls surrounding the viridary are the facades of buildings located around it. Designed temple is a 45 metres high cone, with a diameter of 75 m. On four sides the cone is cut open with long slits.
On the top of the church there are small openings, ascribed to important dates in history of Poland. They are arranged according to the sunlight incidence angle, so that on particular dates the rays go through the matching gap and fall on the prism placed beneath the vault of the temple. The prism would diffract the light creating a slight rainbow–hued glow on the walls – the symbol of Divine Providence.
