An abandoned piece of land between Manhattan and Brooklyn  is currently for sale. This situation gave rise to an idea. Just like any goods for sale, the island got a bar code, containing data – information. Still, without a decoding system it would be useless.

A principle of operation, which enables creation of three- dimensional images as a result of superposition of laser beams in foggy air was used. The tower located in central part of the island emits laser beams towards steel pillars crowned with movable mirrors. They create lines of the barcode.

Beams reflected by the mirrors shine on misty background (artificial fog). Hazy island becomes a mystic land invisible from the outside, where images of the past loom up from among clouds of vapour.

The old part of the island, which is a place of special preservation, stays intact, while whole infrastructure is hidden under ground. The entirely is a XXI century museum where history becomes present and the visitors are witnesses of revival of characters and events from the past.

On September 11th 2001 WTC towers collapsed.

In the misty space of the island light – phantoms of the towers could still exist…
